What a crock. Gas pumps have been temperature-corrected for over 10 years. Petroleum is a floating market like most energy, so just about every company is using some amount of "Middle Eastern Oil".

Biggest flaw with that chain mail is that gas pumps are temparature corrected. However, they are only temparature corrected to the point of leaving the inground tank. There is truth in what is in that e-mail as it leaves the tank, up through the piping, into the pump, and into your car. As for what happens once it is inside the tank, the e-mail is also correct.
As for petroleum being a floating market and that each company is using some amount, well so what? It is a pretty well known industry fact that most petroleum companies make the most of their money from the import and export of petroleum, and not from retail sales to automibile users. Don't ask me to source this. I got this information from a pricing analyst working for Shell Canada. Thus, which company you chose to add even those few dollars to, well to some, that kind of thing matters.
