I think insurance is high everywhere.. in Canada for a Tiburon (only 20,000 CND) insurance would cost between $3,000-7,000 per year.. and its one of the cheapest cars you can get. rx-7 is alright, but im really liking the rx-8

There are many variables to insurance prices. Its also based on the driving record of the person, type of vehicle and if u are the primary or secondary driver. The RX-8 will be sick! keep an eye out for the new Nissan 350Z and G35 Coupe.

yes, the new RX-8 is gonna be sweet. My mom is ditching her 99 accord V6 for a RX-8 when it comes out. and im not allowed to drive it. BOO
but yeah..insurance is expensive. for me(20) w/ one speeding ticket on a 99 Jetta would be 4900 a year. I turn 21, it drops to 2350 a year. So im going carless for another month

have fun doing all the tunes up... rotary engines cost more in the long run because of the repairs frequently.

I don't know in what world you live, but in mine mazda is now known for building quite good rotary engines, which are reliable (WOW, this must be an opening of eyes for you )....

NSU was indeed known for their bad quality rotary engines... but mazda improved the process ENORMOUSLY and engines are really reliable.. I mean, if it was not a reliable engine, do you think a company like mazda would still produce them and take the risk of getting a bad reliability reputation? I don't think so!

/me drools....

mmmmmmmmmmmm... rotaryyyyyy...

About the reliability: Look after her and she'll look after you. My biggest regret is not being able to keep my baby (Series IV) in good condition. I don't know if anythings changed in the Series VI in regards to the sensitivity of the engine, but if u service at regular (like clockwork) intervals, it should be ok.
