decks.de... its a bit pricey, but for the selection you get and the speed of the shipping its worth it if you do not want the fresh stuff 4 months after its first released.

I haven't bought any vinyl in 2 months, just because its a bitch to ship here, and vinyl shops are non existant.

phonica 2nd

juno if no choice.

you can also order many records directly from the label and save a bit this way. If you have 4 records from the same label on your list its worth it, one by one the shipping makes it tedious.

i doubt they would "ban vinyl" outright, instead they might ban one of the chemicals present in vinyl or used in the manufacturing process, and in this case they would resort to some other less harmful, though perhaps more expensive substance

i cant speak for genres other than techno, but theres a number of labels releasing still on vinyl only, and many great netlabels releasing mp3 only, so by sticking to only one format one would be limiting one's sound somewhat. For labels which release on both formats, for me it depends on the release...if its a monster of an EP with 4 tracks, id take vinyl, but if its only got one track i like, digital is more attractive.

The cheapest way i found to buy new vinyl is chemical-records.com

Shipping to Montreal for 2 discs costs only 4 dollars, and my whole order is cheaper than if i was buying in the UK cause of no tax! They have a shitload of sale/half reduced items also.

techno is the genre that keeps vinyl alive for the most part..i cant give you the source as of this moment, but i remember reading that germany presses 80% of todays vinyl. When i was in berlin the selection was astounding. You would get stuff 2 to 3 weeks before any of the sites.

edit: rock is making a ressurgance in this area

I do. Buy and receive stuff in both formats all the time. Could do entire sets either all vinyl or all CD. Plus the used vinyl market is a buyers market right now, lots of gems to be found.
