Ok, the stupid label thing was a cheap shot...and as far your comment about "just give me build-up, break-down trance on a label i know by a producer i know, and i'm happy,"...haha, thats funny. Lately I haven't been listening to "build-up, break-down trance" and I haven't been listening to music from labels that I'm familiar with, from producers that I'm familiar with (with the exception of Hybrid, since I'm pretty familiar with them now), and I'm listening to a lot of nu-breaks, progressive and house.

So sorry for dissing most American producers and insulting your "pride", but aside from BT, I haven't heard too many great tracks from American producers. I'm open-minded, not prejudice against American's, even though it may sometimes seem like it. My favourite DJ's are Hybrid and Paul van Dyk, simply because they have excellent mixing skills, I don't care whether they drop tunes that I've heard before or not, and I'll always hear something new because I'm not so obsessed with this music that I can identify 99% of the tunes in a 4 hour set.

well yeah not in trance but he wasnt talking about dissing americans in just trance. i am sure it will catch up.

Yah, it was supposed to be funny...sorta.

If you're into progressive and house, then the labels above are are on the forefront. I'd also mention long-time powerhouses like Yoshitoshi and Moonshine records. In breaks, it's hard to beat the brits though. I'm a big Hybrid fan too.

That's cool. And that was sorta my point about being open-minded. I spend hours listening to mp3s and checking out vinyl I've never heard (or heard of) at the record shop. Every so often I find a gem. Some of it is American. Some of it is from the labels and artists listed above.

In general I find recent Dutch trance somewhat lacking and unoriginal, but I'm certainly not going to write them off. In fact, I still follow Dutch labels very closely, as there's always a gem in there somewhere. I've bought a couple Dutch records in the past couple weeks.

And Eugine, word about BT. He's from Maryland. Represent!

Yeah, about 6 months ago, I was completely trance-addicted...like you said, build up, break down, that was my favourite style. But then I got bored of that, not that I don't listen to it anymore, I still do, just not as much...As for house and progressive, I've just gotten into these genre's like maybe a month ago, so I'm still really picky about what I listen to. I really like Lee Burridge's GU...forgot which number, my friend bought it a few days ago. Has that 'shroom song as the first one on the first cd. As for house, heh, call me a house-virgin right now

As for the typical trance-forumula genre, I still like it, but I don't like every song that follows that style, I'm a lot more picky these days. Current fav's include Signum - Second Wave, Push - Tranzy State of Mind, Mars - Plastic, and thats about it.

And I didn't mean to diss all the trance producers from USA, but they're not good in that, house, or prog, is a different story though
