I am huge fans of Seinfeld, and Frasier, both of which I say had the best writing ever for sitcoms. Having just gone through both series' lately, Seinfeld edges out Frasier, just because of the consistency and increasing side splittingness. Frasier is smarter, but Seinfeld was more clever, with incredible timing.
Plus, the majority of the stories in Seinfeld are actually true. Larry David really did have sex with a cleaning women on his desk.

the sleeping under teh desk ep was the best scheme ever. Hiring a contractor to come into the office afterhours to BUILD a sleeping fortress under his desk! RESULT! Absolutely brilliant.

Personally, I'm a HUGE fan of the writing for the 90's sitcom "NewsRadio."

(1) Hearing the British rip into the show for 2 years & (2) watching Jerry Seinfeld prance around Hollywood (with a smug attitude) has greatly influenced my opinion of it.
FTWK the best episode is by far "the contest", next level shit right there...
True enough, but I don't get why the Brits are ragging on it so much.
I saw the two greats, Larry David and Ricky Gervais in an interview together on youtube, similar thoughts on comedy.
Seinfeld rocks, I love both some of the Brit humour and the Seinfeldian stuff.
