weird i heard him say he was friends with de niro. either way they're both absolute masters and regardless of the films quality, i know their preformances are gonna be ace
de niro needs to be a bad guy, i hate it when any of the two are cops.
and theyre going to be fighting crime against 50 cent??? I know how to beat 50 cent, take all the hyp away from him or better yet put kanye west up against him head to head.

Actually I believe they could not rehearse, because they were both doing different movies. The first time the saw each other for Heat, was to film the last scene. Even the coffee shop scene was done using camera tricks, and filming them separately because of conflicting schedules.

De Niro and Pacino have appeared in the same movie (Godfather Pt2. Fucking amazing)
And Heat, there is a nano second where the back of bobby's head is in the same shot as Al's face.
I read that they have had disputes through 3rd parties a few times, but the theory is that they don't want to be "type casted" or compared.
It makes sense, they are both different actors who happen to play in similar roles...in my opinion de niro is much more versatile while, pacino is presence and very believable.
both great actors, both very different.
For me De Niro takes the win...a bronx tale always has and always will be one of my sentimental favorites since i was very young.
Edit: in GF 2 they were never in the same shot, as they played in different era's
