It was a great party.
The bars did open back at 11am.
The sound was fucking fantastic. Properly tuned and everything. Music sounded sick.
I think Danny is going deaf, some of his mixes were way off,

OK a bit more of a review now that I have slept for a few hours.
Last night was simply amazing, the club, the crowd, and the music. Danny was Danny...its such a great party when he is having fun and it looked like he was having a blast last night.
The Club
- It was never packed or too hot (actually felt bad for the other DJ's as when I walked around the other rooms were pretty empty - everyone there was there for Danny)
- line up to get in moved fast less than 5 minutes
- no line ups at the bars
- bouncers and washroom attendants kept everything clean and organized
The Crowd
- much older than a regluar club night (I would guess the average age had to be around 30)
- other than a few minutes there really was no pushing or shoving through the crowd
- great vibe....everyone seemed to be in a great mood and having fun
- saw a lot of old faces I recognized from Industry and Industry parties
The Music
- Matt C opened up the night perfectly - as one of my friends said we were one step away from being in Fly...mind you that is a good step
- Matt C played a new song he just finished a couple weeks ago...wish he said the name but he stopped the song about 3/4 through it, gets on the mic and says "pretty good eh?"
- he also played Big Fun
- Danny was on last night which was what I was hoping for given that I wasn't too impressed with him the last 2 times I saw him (LOL and Ibiza)
- played everything - house, deep house, diva house, minimal, a bit of tribal
- I suck at trainspotting but he did play Dance Space Dance two times, and at 9AM he started playing "old school from back at Paradise Garage) - two songs he did play were Corrina Joseph - Live Your Life With Me and Be Yourself
- also played the first 5 or 6 tracks from his upcoming cd around 8AM when he had to go to the washroom (so looking forward to this new cd now)
- as mentioned earlier his mixing was off a number of times...but the tunes made up for it
Danny Randomness
- Hinted he was going to be playing longer right when he started
- full use of his lights
- dancing around and having fun in the booth
- climbing on top of the booth with one leg over it to reach down to the crowd
- someone handing him a handfull of glow strings which he then starts to dance with then, put them in his mouth like a dog bone, and finally throw them out onto the dance floor
- during his washroom break comes out to the dancefloor and dances with us and takes pictures with people
- dropped a CD (didn't know he had done so) when he was climbing on the DJ booth - guy in the crowd gives it back to him - he tells everyone what happened on the mic and brings the guy up into the booth to party with him for a bit
- you can tell how much he loved Industry - must have mentioned it 5 times
- Toronto is second only to NY to him
One day I am going to make it to the end of one of his extended sets, but a busy weekend and day meant I was falling asleep standing up by the time 10AM rolled around. That is the only problem with his extended sets is you never know when it will end...if I knew it was going to end at noon I would have stayed...but he could be playing now (5:30PM) for all I know. Judging from the amount of fun he was having I'm sure this isn't the last time we will see him play at Circa (in fact he said he was going to bring Industry back to Toronto at Circa) which is a very good thing. Regular Danny Tenaglia extended sets is something to look forward to. There was so many other great moments last night but I just can't remember. Can't wait for the next Be Yourself night at Circa.
My only complaint about the whole night was the lighting guys...way too much use of the LED's, but if that's my only complaint I guess that's a good thing.

Matt C was excellent opening the night. the first track while on the dancefloor was by Everything but the Girl, which set quite a tone. Big Fun was great to hear too...fucking classic. It was good to hear him again as it had been a while.
Danny was clearly having a blast from the moment he arrived. After John Acquaviva finished, he was up in the booth for a bit too. Tenaglia's enthusiasm and genuine love of what he does is great to see. The vibe he creates is just incredible.
I know that I left way too early (around 5am), but despite a 3-4 hour nap beforehand, I didn't have the energy or desire to pull a marathon. The music was always good, but I wasn't feeling it just before I left...but as I expected to read in this thread, Tenaglia picked it up (probably repeatedly) as the night went on. Mixing was iffy, but whatever. I can only assume that was a tech thing because it seemed to happen often.
I love Circa. No lines, no drama, cool crowd, great setup all around. My one complaint was the lighting. IMHO, the LED system is shit and the lighting guys should be told "less is more". It was not in tune with the music *at all* and was just too much.
good night...not nearly as great as the Docks party, but that's probably my fault for leaving far too early
a semi-regular Tenaglia residency at Circa would make me very very happy (hint, hint!)
