It's bullshit, but making something a 'war' gives the executive branch a lot more power to act so naturally they want this.

war on al qaeda: check. war in iraq: .........

if it was an option, i would vote 15% yes. although, i also think a significant foreign policy adjustment is in order, starting with new energy technologies for self sufficiency, followed by self initiated decreased influence in middle eastern affairs, ending with total withdrawn support for Israel and the hopeless peace process - let them kill each other. (i added that because i know someone is going to say something about how our failed foreign policy dictates so many things)

I just voted yes

I think the war in Iraq sucked in many ways. The army didn't properly train some of the soldiers for their mission, didnt supply them with all the basic/necessary equipment, and lied to some soldiers about the extent or duration of their tours of duty.
Furthermore, on top of our soldiers, many more Iraqis died as well. Some at our hands while most died in a sometimes brutal semi-civil war.
And yet I support the war, and am happy to see that progress has been made.
Want to know why there wasn't the kind of public outrage you saw in Vietnam? Enlisting in the US army isn't mandatory. Americans were also happy to see Sadam get his ass kicked.

I'm also extremely happy we kicked the shit of the Taliban in Afghanistan. Have any of you ever seen or read The Kite Runner? The Taliban truly turned Kabul into a hellhole - the city is extremely run down, dancing was not allowed, Western music was prohibited, women had to wear an ugly and ridiculous looking burqua, and men all needed to walk around with beards.
Under the Taliban system everyone was FORCED to become extremely religious, even if they didnt want to. Everyone but the Taliban leaders that is, which as expected were a bunch of hypocrites.
They wanted Afghanistan to avoid anything that resembled or was associated with Western culture so a lot of books were banned. The only modern technology that was encouraged was of course weapons, weapons, and more weapons.

hmm sorry to burst your bubble like this but the Taliban is still there and infact they are regrouping right now. Also the so called demographic government has alot of corrupt members who were the ex power hungry warloards from the Taliban days. The country is still lacking basic needs for the average population and not to mention that there is a huge problem with the security in that country.I hope one day things get better, but we are not at that point yet

Obviously! Why do you think we have religion in the first place? Mind control for the masses. That is why I want to be a priest.

I support not because I want to or believe in it, But because I serve as well in the military as well. I dont believe in the war honestly and wish it would end soon. The lies have to stop somewhere.
