I just got my first rewards card about a month ago, and I had planned to do the exact same, and put the "rebate" right back in to the EDM industry.

I suppose there are enough people out there that are terrible at managing their credit, so they will end up paying for my rebate check. SUCKERS!

The way i see America the great is kind of like how i see some drug attics.

Some people are so FUCKED so screwed up that they are hurting bad. They are to the point that IF they get better it will take a long time. But the key thing is, they have to have the WILL to do so.

Now if us as Americans woke up and read the fine print; and realize how much they are pulling the wool over our own eyes, change will happen. But unfortunately the majority of America is dumb. Don't think so?

Who is your city mayor? Is the governator republican or democratic? Name 7 countries in Europe. Name 5 countries in South America. How many litters in a gallon? Whats the square root of 49? Use "there, their & they're" each correctly in a sentence. Who was the first president to be re-elected? President Lincoln was the _th president. A cube has how many surfaces? A decagon has how many sides? Name AT LEAST 40 states. I can go on and on.

Now lets all be honest who read these questions, did u answer them all correctly with out having too "google" it or "wiki" it?? I am sure 20-30 years ago if i would have asked anyone off the street these questions they would have answered MOST of them right. Do u think if i just walked around and asked people off the street these questions they will know 50% of them, 40%? I think not.

Need more proof? Search for the educational statistics. Search for the statistics back in the 70's/80's and compare them to now; you will be shocked, i sure was.

So if we stay stupid change will never happen. If we do wise up, change will happen, but we are not going anywhere for a while so might as well grab a Snickers

We are getting dummied down by the second. I think TV and radio takes a lot of the blame. I have been TV free for the past 5 years now. And i am glad. Just today my buddies were watching some hells kitchen TV show. DAMN is that show setup, but it seems like everything in the media is setup now a days to ensure profits. Reality TV has NEVER been reality, its always been setup by the networks. And i don't even want to get started on whats on the radio, seems like dumber the lyrics are the more popular the song is. Superman dem hoes? Nah, more like superman dem stupid people that are out there posting their youtube dance videos.

So yeah, shit sucks.

We are stupid as a nation, we have LOWER numbers of successful elementary, middle school, and high school students compared to MANY 3rd world countries. Now that fact alone is embarrassing and should shed light on the situation, yet people are still refinancing there homes, buying new car, and raising there credit limits.

But everything is "A ok", because as long as we make the minimum house payment (or rent), minimum car payment, minimum rent-n-roll payment, minimum rent to own payment, 40 dlr minimum payment on the Sears/home depot/best buy/Nordstrom/fry's/visa/amex/master card/chase card WE WILL BE IN DEBT FOR THE REST OF OUR LIVES

Its modern day slavery if you actually think about it

Cliffs: ohh yeah i forgot to add, as Americans we are getting more and more LAZY!

The Banking Crisis Is Back

quote:
After more than a month of claims that the worst is behind us, the banking crisis is suddenly back in the headlines. Those who compare the propaganda to the calendar will see a pattern forming, revolving around the fiscal quarters, in which the beginning of the quarter is dominated by the reports of the losses from the previous quarter, followed by a period in which it is claimed that, with all that bad news, the worst must be behind us. Then, as the quarter enters its final month, the propaganda machine begins preparing the population for another round of losses. June is the final month of the second quarter, and right on cue, the bad news reports have begun. The banking crisis itself is not back, because it never went away, and is worse than ever.

Far from having been stabilized, the global banking system is on life support, kept alive by extensive government funding while it is being restructured; capital injections are being arranged for failing institutions, steps are being taken to keep the book values of worthless securities from plunging to zero, while the banks are being forced to write down the values of their assets.

This downsizing is already traumatic, but it has really only begun, because the reason for the existence of much of the banking system has disappeared. With the collapse of the securities bubble, the markets in which the banks played are gone. The casino has closed, and the gamblers have been left out in the cold. When the system dies, so do the players.

...

To make matters worse, trance is dead.

The next couple of years are going to be crazy.

Some of my friends are packing up and leaving the country.
Others are just buckling down and learning real skills when the sh*t hits the fan.

The main concern is the dollar is dead, and there is nothing that can be done about it. When China unpegs the Yuan and/or oil trades more in non-dollar currencies, that's when sh*t hits the fan.

Everyone (well, except the US and Cali) is getting rid of their debt within the next year.

while i agree that our society as a whole has become more sedentary and ignorant, be careful not to confuse knowledge with intelligence. memorizing facts doesn't make you smart. scoring low on standardized tests doesn't make you stupid either. our pop culture has trained us to be lazy, pacified and constantly instantly gratified. television has raped our youth of their creativity and curiousity. we prefer to be told how things work, how to think, what to think and what is happening rather than finding out for ourselves, or reading about it. the deeper problem is this culture of overwork and mass consumption. we are kept preoccupied with work, bills, debt and the latest must-have toys. our lives are becoming more socially isolated as we spend more time indoors, away from people, perpetually involved in some form on escapism from our dull lives, whether it be movies, sitcoms or video games. the quality of life in this country is in steep decline if you just sit back and go with the flow. before you know it, you've been molded into one of these "stupid americans" the rest of the world talks about.

That is exactly true Rich, If I sit down and thinko, I can answer all those questions. We are indeed, sort of lumped into stupid Americans category the more and more we sit and let the world program us.

We are getting out, we're getting down, we're dancing, going out to the clubs, bein social and shit.

Think about these lowlifes like the HCWDouchebags thread, getting orange, playing Xbox..
