I think the same companies also record to CD-R which is loads chepaer. DJ Mag always has adverts about vinyl pressing companies.
ALternatively, u could buy your own vinyl cutting machine...
Theres one by Vestax, and one by Kingston, HTFR.com used to have some but I think they've sold them. They record from a line in, so u can record from any source.
However, unless u've got £4000 burning a hole in your pocket, its seems like an unlikely option!
if you only want one track made, then there are things called dubplates.. they play the same as a record, but dont last that long, and can scratch easily, because they are made out of a softer plastic. Check out MP3 Vinyl for that service. If you want real records.. around here it costs about $1400 CND for 500 12" records, black or white sleeves, and 2 colour lables. But of course the best way is to get signed onto a record lable, they will take care of all production and promotion costs!
my parents used this company like two years ago to press a bunch of kids songs for my little brothers party to give them out to the guests, and since then i have used this company to press my own music like four times, and they have different qualities that you can use, of course if you are using ur vinyls to spin , you 'll have to choose a higher quality, but theya re great people
