I don't post on here very much, but I thought I would share a little inside information for everyone. I can't say too much as I might get someone in trouble, but I can say a few things that were interesting.
Tiesto's management was being pretty lame the entire time. All the DJ's had to submit a tracklist of songs they were going to play, and were instructed not to deviate from that list. Not cool in my opinion.
I also know that there were some back stage things that happened at the wavehouse which upset Tiesto. That, along with someone throwing something at him, caused him to leave his set early.
Again, in my opinion, if you're getting paid the money that Tiesto is getting paid, you should play all the way through your time, if not more, and even if someone throws something at you, shrug it off and let the security deal with that person.
Tiesto's set at 4th and B was very disappointing. There was no energy to the set, and just lacked the pizazz that his wavehouse set had. I can't say for sure, but I think what happened at the wavehouse backstage affected his performance, which, again, isn't cool. I feel bad for those that just went the 4th and B as the wavehouse was much better.
Sergo was terrible, and again, that was a Tiesto Management request. That makes absolutely no sense to me whatsoever, unless you think that throwing a HORRIBLE DJ on in front of Tiesto makes him look better (as if he needs that). The only other thing I can think is that Sergo paid for the spot by helping with the booking fee. Otherwise, it was completely inexplicable as to why that idiot saw the stage at all, let alone twice!!!
I was on the beach during the wavehouse set, as I didn't get tickets in time, but the crowd outside was great, and they did everything the SDPD asked them to do. I don't get the po po, as they circled in a car around the crowd during Tiesto's set, it was like they were trying to instigate something. I just don't understand that thinking. In fact, they only pulled one person out of the crowd, and he was REALLY wasted, but to put 6 police officers, 2 Tahoe's, the police Helicopter & stop the music all for 1 arrest, that seems excessive to me. Still, outside the vibe was great with people dancing on the beach. It was a great experience.
My last complaint was my own fault, I didn't get tickets in time for 4th and B so my girlfriend and I had to buy tickets at the door, and they were $100 a piece. But what can you do when your girlfriend already has a nice buzz going and wants to party, you suck it up and take it in the wallet. Still, that was not a $200 party by any means.
