Well, apologies for the multiple posts, but that was just nuts. I didn't even start watching until the last 10 minutes (studying for exams sucks), and I just lost it once Cech dropped it. The rain was obviously an influential factor, but then Nihat scored an absolute scorcher. If the Czechs had scored after the red card, Turkey would have lost for sure with Tuncay in net. Craziness, and it'll lead to an even more fiery match against Croatia in the quarter-finals.

Edit: LOL at Baros getting a yellow card and not even playing.

What the fuck was that?! Best comeback evar!

Highly enjoyable last 20 minutes there, and here's me thinking this was gonna be a stinker. I was looking forward to penalties until that sweet finish.

Quarter

I hoped Turkey would pull it off, they are much better footballing side than the Czechs and it should be an interesting match against the Croats.

and yeah.. I've always thought Buffon was a better keeper than Cech, but I still didn't expect that howler tonight.

True - but cech has been making a few errors of judgement this season (not quite as obvious as that one).

I think that head gear is affecting his confidence.

Gutted for the czechs, I like them but some great drama.

Cech used to be amazing, I think he dropped a bit in form after that big injury and could never perform as well again. Bad mistake today, but happens to everyone. Remember the 1996 final? Czech Republic has a bit of an history with this kind of thing, lol.

Glad I catched the final minutes, brilliant comeback, and amazing finish by Nihat on the top corner.

that had to be one of the best halves of football i have ever witnessed. czech republic looked like they had it wrapped up with their second, but the turks kept attacking the left side of the czech defense and it paid off! and nihat, what a finish on the third to seal the deal.

lol at the volkan red. for a few minutes, my friends and i thought, he got a red for trying to punch the ball away? and then we saw the two-hand shove.
