I second Eric J's post here. It's running like a charm on many macs, so the cause should come from very bad drivers or hardware firmware. OR the boy didn't clean his prefs which he should do as he installed logic pro alongside with express. FYI, I have both running here, no problem at all.

Actually, if he is having the same specific problem that I had (which it really sounds like he does), then it is a problem that has to do with the software.

It only has to do with the 8.02 update, however. I'm running the regular 8.00 version that installs out of the box and it works great.
