i got in around 1:30, Jelo was playing Just the Tip in the main room. Tunes were great, tried to dance but way too busy, i like my space and kept getting bumped. Went over to the Gallery where a short dj was playing (Baby Joel?). Was feeling the groove there big time, stayed there till around 3. Went back to DJ Dan and D. Glaude to see if i could find some room. Was still jammed, but I found some space up near the front. There was a tranceaddict crew up front there, talked to Invasionmix for a bit...maybe time i stop being a lurker so much. They had no idea who i was lol. I like dancing near people that are loving it.
Danced my ass off for an hour or so, but there were a bit too many old remixes for my taste, Where's you head at, Around the World, etc. I like hearing fresh beats. I went to find a different groove in the Drink, sound system was ridiculously loud in there, my hair was standing up near the subs. Great beats for half an hour there, then everything was sounding the same. I spent the next half hour wandering around all the open rooms but every room seemed to be playing the exact same stuff, electro/tech house. Minimal stuff in the Acid Lounge was okay, but I was really craving some more melody.
I love electro, it makes me dance so hard for awhile, but I need to mix things up. Its a little disappointing that between the Guv, Drink, Gallery and Acid Lounge they couldn't book something that is a totally different style.
Went back to DJ Dan after the Drink closed, the calibre of tunes seemed much lower. Maybe it was me slowing down but everything sounded the same. More and more old remixes.
Good night overall though, but I would think twice about seeing DJ Dan & Glaude again. Baby Joel, or maybe it was Evan G was my fav of the night.
