Was a fun day first 7 hours was playing top 20 tunes and other stuff for a carnival. Then played last 6 hours with a outdoor dance club. Best part of it all there was sound engineer at event who had sound system set minus my part so I just had to patch and go. The night lights I used my lights and he had lighting tech run lights because he was also running 2 class 4 RGB Laser 1.6 because you needed certified operator for em. So never needed Gridlock or Cadenza tunes. Because I wasn't told what I be playing until I got there so I was lucky I brang every thing I had for music. I get to do this next year when they do same carnival.

Longest single gig was 8 and half hours from 11.30 to 8.00 in the morning. The small hours in the morning are always harder than anything else when playing for such a long time.

Energy drinks, stuff to eat etc.

Make sure you stock up on complex carbohydrates before hand, stuff like whole grain pasta, cereals.

Get a good source of protein e.g. turkey, this has less fat than chicken and also is a good source of ceratonin.

Take Bananas, sun flower seeds, Almonds and other nuts with you. Good for both a source of energy and protein etc for the immune system as thsi is prone to taking a bashing otherwise.

Take a tea spoon of olive oil in the morning with some natural yogurt as this will help lubricate your intestines and give you a good source of energy, and contrary to popular belief, fat is good for you if its the correct type, in this case monounsaturated. Because of the molecular make up of the fat in olive oil, your body is able to put this to better use.
Sunflower oil is technically a better oil for you but donīt use it to cook with as it undergoes more checmical changes due to it being polyunsaturated and has a more īvolatileī nature when in contact with heat.

Avoid stupid stuff like redbull and go for the proper isotonic energy drinks.

Make sure you get a good nights sleep before hand.

This would also prepare you well in terms of both recovery from a night out or just simply taking a test at school, would keep you pretty sharp mentally throughout the day.

Hope this helps a little and if you want me to do a proper plan then let me know.
My actual qualification is in Strength and conditioning, Nutrition and physiotherapy so this used to be what I did for a job before I got really bored of treating people who just didnīt want to get better.

Cheers
Nem

who doesn't?

man, i absolutely love extended sets.

by the time the 5th hour comes around i'm just totally involved in it and out of my mind, in a delirious state. the time starts to go really quickly and I forget what tracks I've played. Everything becomes more intuitive and instinctive.

I think by hour 3 by myself things get interesting...I seriously begin to run out of newer fresh in my head stuff to play and start experimenting and digging into my case.
