i'll say it here rather than anywhere else: insomnia sucks. of all the undergrounds in sf they charge the most, have the lamest rules, are the strictest about the rules, and they get shut down the most. even when i walk in to hear an all-local line up with 5 girls and myself, i still have to pay more than if i go to other undergrounds with less girls and a real headliner at the decks. they charge more for drinks than other places do for strong drinks. with all that you'd expect something really special inside, but let's compare to other undergrounds in the city: FAIL. it has it's allure for people who've never been there or any other underground, but it gets old really quick. especially when you've been exposed to how other sf undergrounds work. i think marco bailey could make that place worthwhile, but then again they'd probably charge double in which case PASS!
