Yeah definitely way more upbeat than their previous stuff but I liked this album. Gobbledigook is a nice change of pace from what you would typically expect from them.

Takk... is still their masterpiece in my opinion. I'm not sure if I'd consider this their worst since I thought the end of () got sorta monotonous. I really dug the upbeat switch in sound in this one and thought they did it very well. Gotta stay fresh somehow.

I couldn't find the video for this on their site so here is a link to where I found it. Certainly an interesting video.

() is the one for me. The atmosphere and beauty on this album is immense. For me, they haven't come close to this with any of their other albums.

Agaetis Byrjun or () is my ultimate favourite, always changing based on my mood. () mainly because of tracks 1 and 3, Agaetis just works for me better as a whole.

This new one, I can't decide what to think of yet. I've listened to it once, pretty liked it, but wasn't blown away like I was used to with Sigur Rós. Not really a fan of the happy and upbeat music they did in the first half of the album, second half was enjoyable with Ára Bátur and All Alright being my favourites. I guess I like my Sigur more sad and quiet.

Need to listen to this more of course.

Anybody have appreciation of their 1997 album Von? Dark ethereal ambientness.
