Yeah, I would never buy that, especially for those prices.

There are cheaper options, like this one. for only $30. I want to try one and see if it's worth my money.

Five seconds later and I just bought that fucking gizmo. Thanks for the link! I'll try it out. Comments to come later.

Oh ... my ... fucking ... Goddd!!! The thingie is AMAZING! Very little distortion!!! Fast shipping, first of all. Cost me $49-something USD including shipping. Uses 2 AA batteries.

I tried out a favourite oldskool trance tune that was so darn quiet, and this amp made it sound GOOD! Better than what I ended up making with audio enhancement program ...

Dimensions of this thing: 4 and 1/2 inches long, 1 inch wide, 1 inch thick. The batteries are slightly difficult to place in this unit. PLUS there 3 audio outputs on the other end. Made in China (of course).

Thats for the link. I love this, and will tell all my friends.

NEXT TASK - I will let you know how long the batteries last. And I am using MDR-7506's, so might be a factor too.

The BEST part is, not just the sound amplification (the bass is reproduced very WELL!) - but the distortion is minimal! Oh my.

Just remember, that it all depends on the limitations of your headphones. The better your headphones are, the better this amp will work for you. Its not going to make it sound better than what the headphones can at their best. This is just a sound enhancement. The most important thing is - it makes my Ipod sound much better - the MDR-7506's very great already. Now the sound is as rich as when I plug my cans into my DJM-800.

So far I have used it for 4 hours and the battery is still good. Though there's no indicator button of any kind to tell me how much of battery is left.

EDIT: I dont want to confuse you. So I'll just add another comparison: at the same volume before and after the amp, the sound is twice louder and the bass is twice stronger. You wont get the same kind of replication if you are trying this at the highest volume setting, if you know what I mean.

Since the last time I posted in this thread, I've picked up a cheap Fiio amp (can be found at DealExtreme for <$9).

Apart from boosting the overall volume, it also has boosts the bass quite a bit. It's a fun sound, and can be used as a cheap option to drive some of the higher impedance headphones.
