Of course its meaningless. USA simply only has to change the tactics (i.e. avoid using ground forces in areas where Russian-made anti-personnel weapons are based).

Besides, in the past, Russian/Soviet advanced weapons proved useless in many conflicts. I mean, seriously, how useful is it to have state-of-the-art radar systems, for example, when there's nothing to protect it from being wiped out in a single strike?

And besides, buying a couple dozen Russian MIG's is meaningless against a 100,000+ bomb-strong American-led barrage. Americans have the Iranians outmatched in every category except maybe number of troops available.

U.S. Offical Sees Two 'Red Lines' That Could Prompt Strike

A senior official called it "not a rehearsal, but basic, fundamental training" required to launch an operation against Iran. "The Israeli air force has already conducted the basic exercise necessary to tell their senior leadership, 'We have the fundamentals down.' Might they need some more training and rehearsals? Yes. But have they done the fundamentals? I think that is what we saw," the official told ABC News, adding that if Israel moves closer to military action, he expects to see more exercises like the one conducted in early June. The chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, Adm. Mike Mullen, was in Israel over the weekend for a series of meetings with senior Israeli military officials, including, Lt. Gen. Gabi Ashkenazi, the chief of staff of the Israeli Defense Forces. According to a military spokesman, Iran's nuclear program was "a major topic" of discussion. The widely held view among Pentagon officials is that an Israeli attack would do only temporary damage to Iran's nuclear program, and that it would cause major problems in the region and beyond, prompting a wave of attacks on U.S. interests in Iraq, the Persian Gulf and elsewhere.

Bush defended the Vincennes crew's action and said that given the situation the officers in question had acted appropriately. Eventually, the UN Security Council Resolution 616 was passed, which expressed "deep distress" over the downing, "profound regret" for the loss of life, and stressed the need to end the Iraq-Iran war. In August 1988, George H.W. Bush was quoted by Newsweek as saying, "I'll never apologize for the United States of America. Ever, I don't care what the facts are." The Vincennes crew received combat-action ribbons. Lieutenant Commander Scott Lustig, air-warfare coordinator on the Vincennes, was awarded with the Commendation Medal for 'heroic achievement', noting his 'ability to maintain his poise and confidence under fire'. The US government refused to claim responsibility for the incident and to apologize to the Iranian nation for the appalling act which brought unspeakable pain and grief to countless families.

Yeah this whole gameplan is so obvious and predictive that I find it amusing for people to buy any other reason for invading Iran other than oil..

And its so obvious world will get more fucked up after it, yet we are doing it, its like hammering one's own foot..

Technical Analysts of Financial markets say, only way to get on with big boys is technical analysis, cos they know some information from before and they are buying into it.. the steap rise in oil prices in past one week despite hike in production is because perhaps big boys who already have information of perhaps another war ... and are right now buying into it.. Oil prices will shoot to 250 USD, inflation will fuck small countries.. family budget of every fucking living family will shoot up.. you own a car or not.. food prices, chemicals, travel tickets, groceries everything will become more expensive... everyone will be fucked. In Iran or outside..

There will be more fire, more houses burnt.. adding to more global warming.. more people killed, than the Iraqi style insurgency will come.. dont forget how Iranians painted skulls on US embassy walls.. dont expect them to love you, or their children to love you cos you killed his father than gave him flipops or a football to play with..

Its all spiraling out of control.. and Iran will be the final nail on this coffin Bush has laid for all of us.
