im willing to bet that if you went in a club and asked people who was more legit - some dude ripping it up on decks or some guy on a laptop with traktor- almost everyone would give respect to the vinyl guy.

it's just a social standard.


Painters who use oils get more credit than photoshop painters too

i'd also bet that 98% of clubbers don't care what the dj is using.

it also shows that it doesn't matter what you use, you can't polish a turd and the cream rises to the top.

By the way, that was a terrible analogy.

It's more interesting to watch someone use vinyl.

Also, to add to the things that you can't do with Traktor v2:
tactile control (without additional hardware)
winding down decks by powering off (can be simulated by holding the << pitch bend)
make that 'zip' stopping sound by bumping the needle across the record

traktor is cool. i has loops wich cannot be done on normal turntables, and sounds really cool slow.

you cannot get blowjobs using traktor. i miss my techs and blowjobs
