I wouldn't necessarily call him a "lyrical genius" but he has a way with words man... talented anti-techno rapper would be appropriate.

alright, i've liked eminem from when he first came out...so i've been a fan for awhile now...

i couldn't wait for this album! grabbed it online a couple days ago....the first time i heard "without me" and saw the video i thought it was pretty whack and it was missing something "eminemy" (thats the only way i can desribe it)....but after a couple of listens through the album, its really growing on me...and the new video as well....the entire thing is still missing something, but you can't really expect eminem to keep doing the same shit...i love his lyrics too, his story telling i think is amazing, "stan" is the perfect example.....my fav songs on the album so far are tracks 12-19 but overall i still think its better than most current rap albums.....and yeah i wanted to slap him for the "nobody listens to techno" comment too, but i think its funny he insulted moby...even after moby said he was a genious and all...lol....i also love eminem's sound effects but maybe even more his love for his daugter (maybe cuz all i want in life is a wife and a little girl)..i jsut respect him for that, but also for the fact that he never gives a fuck....he's honest and i love that in people, i hold honesty as an upmost quality in the people i hang around with...so i can identify with eminem a lot, so he kind of speaks to me sometimes

i'll buy this puppy once its out in stores!

you guys do realize that his whole "I don't give a fuck" attitude is generated and false and used only to sell records? he even says it in fight music "that's how i got this whole nation to embrace me"... being a wigger rebel that is.... that being said... i will agree he has "a way with words" and "without me" is a funny song... the video part where he's dancing Bin Laden is funny.... i don't even care if he says "nobody listens to techno".... it's true... i couldn't care less whether electronic music is popular or not...

why do you guys care so much??? he's a pop artist with a bad boy gimmick and the more you guys give him attention the more you're playing into exactly what's he's aiming for... that's his true "genius"... getting himself press and the spotlight.... that's what moby meant... that's the only thing i can give the guy credit for... he knows how to manipulate the mass media....

Eminem is actually a very talented rapper.

Forget his image, that's just for the pop-croud anyways.

I think the Eminem Show (haven't heard it yet) will not be very good because he has stopped rapping and has just focused on his "image", which gets him more money.

Slim Shady LP was pretty good, and Marshall Mathers LP was AMAZING, but the D12 albumn sucks nuts, so I think The Eminem Show will too. Like I care... I'm enjoying Nas - One Mic if i want to listen to some rap.

okay, you are all taking that "nobody listens to techno" line WAY too seriously... those of you that took offense to that line are yet another example of a group of people that hate him because of something he said... he's gotten the point across a million times before, and that is if you don't like what he has to say, don't listen. And you guys are calling him a wigger... I thought this forum was a lot more open-minded than that! How about judging his skills as an artist rather than classifying him as a white guy doing "black music"? I admire his skills as a rapper and as a songwriter... obviously if you can't appreciate any kind of rap music, you're going to think he sucks. If you actually take the time to listen to some of his lyrics, you'll learn the meaning behind them. Sure, "Without Me" isn't a very deep song, but it's not meant to be. It's supposed to make people laugh, and that it does. If you really want to hear meaningful lyrics, listen to "Cleaning Out My Closet".

do you REALLY like trance? i really thought that ppl who are into trance and all that electronic music, of all the people, would understand the diversity of music. you cant judge it as you cannot judge tastes. everyone is different which makes our world a better place.

correction: eminem is a rapper not a popstar. if you know the difference between house and trance, you should be able to tell the difference between nsync and snoop dogg

well eminum is the commercial side of rapper. he is the darude of rap...but he has some mad rhyming skills though

i am not a huge fan of rap..

i think songs where he sings about killing his wife are totally unjustified..

He'd be alright if he just stopped trying to create yet more hype. He's already got all he needs, so he should step back and focus on just making tunes again, rather than all those boring-as-fuck lines about kicking Chris Kirkpatrick's ass. It's hardly contraversial anymore.

He's a pretty good MC, and if he concentrated on that, then I might care about him releasing a new album - but as it is, I really don't.
