God no. There is only a tiny insignificant chance you'll ever "make it", as in, make enough money to live off music (and it won't be a glamorous ammount). Especially if you're talking about EDM. If you want to make music, keep it as a hobby and get a good day job to finance your expenses, because even if you make some money, most likely, your profits are going to be in the red. I know some jazz musicians who make a living out of it - they jam in local clubs nearly every night, they sell CDs, they teach, and usually do something else on the side (like repairing instruments, owning a shop, etc). They make decent "livable" salaries.
Besides, the industry sucks donkey balls. Even if I had an opportunity to live off it, I probably wouldn't (unless I would be making ridiculous ammounts).
