you can't mix with mixedinkey its used to analyze your music so you can sort it according to key. It helps a dj to play harmonic sets with no sound clashes.. Its a great tool.

I'd go with (2) CDJ-800's, and a DJM-400. If you don't mind buying used/from Ebay, you can get the whole setup for $1300-$1500.

i use mixmeister to key and tempo my tracks, i like it cause you can just load your whole library in it and it analyzes em all and stores it. you can sort by all the fields as well.

MixedInKey is ok. Rapid Evolution is ok too. They both basically analyze your mp3's and give you key and tempo information so its easier to find songs that go together. Doesn't always work and I find it limiting...as in, it makes me work with a smaller set of tracks and makes me try and do longer transitions that are needed. So I gave it up.

rapid evolution is the free alternative to mixedinkey.

true, but doesn't limit you that much. you can use one up, one down, 3rds,5ths,7ths up or down, the same key, or a switch from a minor to a 3rd down major/major to 3rd up minor.

harmonic mixing doesn't really limit your mixing, it should do the opposite actually. It allows for you to be more creative with your mixes, and not just mix intros and outros like so many djs do now. I haven't tried this software though. I key my tracks by ear the old fashion way.
