IMO the difference in 'turntable feeling' between 800s and 1000s is neglible.
If less is more think about how much more more would be.

i upgraded from a desktop to a polar and love it! some of the best feeling keys i've ever owned, plus it's a jaw dropping look of a synth. is it worth the extra $$? i dunno... for me it is but if you're tight on money then maybe the less bells & whistles will do you just fine.

ebay? also - if you want to save money, buy the rack, not the keyboard. you can get a $100 midi keyboard that will do the same exact thing, or you can pay an extra 300 bucks just to have that keyboard on the virus TI directly.
also - may i ask why you're upgrading your cdj's from 800 to 1000? I'm actually looking to purchase pioneer cdj's at the moment, but i want to start out with the 200's just to try them out. I'm wondering if i'm missing anything essential or important by not purchasing the more recent pioneer models...
This is good advice and is exactly what I did. All you are paying for with the keyboard is the keys and your paying 1000 bucks for those keys. The desktop is identical function wise so just buy a keyboard and save some major $$$.

Some of the reasons why I want it so badly
By the way... is it true that FL is an annoyin bastard when it comes to hardware?
I've been playing around with FL Studio 8 and I'm not a big fan of it.
After playing around with Ableton Live and really liked the way I was able to write music and the "flow". And I've found it much easier to use my external midi components like synths and controllers.
If you're not sure about which software to use give them all a fair shot. And check out YouTube for tutorials.

I have Ableton and FL 8 though to be honest I still prefer FL Though i'll still use ableton for certain aspects.
