One week isn't much time to go to all three islands in my opinion b/c there's so much to do. I spent a week and a half on Oahu and Maui (each), and even with jam packed days, there were still things we missed. But you probably made a smart move with the hotel and package. A lot of the actual tourist things you pay for cost quite a bit of money.

The north shore is beautiful on Oahu...where most of the surfing competitions are. The Polynesian Cultural Center is there which is AMAZING...it really gives you a good hands on sense of the various Polynesian Cultures. Website They have a luau and a fabulous night show there. The Dole Plantation is there as well. It's nothing special, so I wouldn't call it a must see, but it's definitely interesting.

Oahu is more commercial, whereas Maui is more scenery. Personally I liked Maui more. If you can, I 150% recommend getting a car and doing the drive along the Hana Hwy to the 7 Sacred Pools. There's so many waterfalls etc. to see along the way too (i.e. Twin Falls), where you stop and go hiking into the wooded areas etc. The pools are beautiful too. A sunrise bike tour down the Hakeleka (sp?) crater is a must as well. Zip lines are fun, but you can do those lots other countries (so if you have to skip something, I would say this). Umm....hmm....I'm still not home so I can't look at my itinerary, but I will when I get home and post some pictures of the stuff I did. Snorkelling cruises are nice too (but again, something you can do a lot of places....) So it's up to you what you prefer. If you're only going for a week, personally I would first pick things that you can only do in Hawaii.

FYI.. i did the drive to Hana. It was nice.. nice scenery. having to do that drive back was awful though!

so many curves in the fucking road my hands were getting blisters from turning the wheel so much!

Hawaii is my new favorite place. I'm debating ending my annual WMC trip and making Hawaii and annual thing instead.

something i also did:

Surfing
snokling
lots of flying around in little planes
saw active volcanes
went on an ATV tour through some crazy ass canyon and valley where a bunch of movies have been filmed (pearl harbor, lost, jurassic park.. )
went to the dole plantation (it was boring)
went to the to of some mountain with this huge crator in it that was spewing sulfur gasses into the air
chilled on the beach a lot
went jet skiing in maui

Beautiful eh? How far did you go? And did you make any stops on the way? Scary drive in the dark!!

It's definitely one of my favorite places in the world. It lives up to all its hype IMO>

we flew into kahului and drove all the way around from there.. went right into hana. went for a dip at the hana bay beach. drove about 10 more minutes south then decided to go back since a big chunk of the road ahead was gravel and we only had a couple of more hours of light.

we stopped at a bunch of little places a long the way. don't remember what they were called though.

I want to live in Hawaii.

I've got about 700 pictures.. I'll put em up on facebook sometime soon. got some action shots of me surfing and jet skiing to

Ya...when I went we woke up really early and drove from this little town (can't remember which) all the way to the 7 Sacred Pools, stopping along the way at this hippie village and twin falls etc. We wanted to be back when it was still reasonably light too. But it took us a good day to do.

I can relate with the pictures. I was there for 2 and a half weeks and I have thousands of pictures. I started putting them up on FB awhile back, but just quit b/c there were so many.
