If you have Nexus, I'd suggest checking out the Total Piano expansion - it's got 128 piano patches and most of them are pretty good. You'll have no problem finding an A&B-style sound there.

Another VST to consider is Cakewalk's Dimension Pro - it has a ton of great piano sounds (especially in the two free expansion packs) and it's a great all-around synth for bread-n-butter sounds.

My favorite piano sounds come from hardware, though. I use an Alesis QS8.2 and a Roland XV-5050. Between these two, I have a lot of excellent piano options. Sometimes, I even layer a two piano sounds (one from each) together.

HTH.

I used a piano sound on my last track called Rain Drops.
check it out www.myspace.com/thecounterfeiterss

Let me know if this is the kind of sound you're after.

If you are looking for a really great selection of classical pianos, you should definitely try Akoustik Piano by Native Instruments. It's a VSTi.

Here is a link: http://www.native-instruments.com/i...d=akoustikpiano

You can then route the VSTi through whatever mixer you're using and then tweak it up with some dreamy effects if you want... delay, reverb, filtering, dynamic panning, etc..

Every single piano tone has been recorded in high quality from a real natural piano and mapped into the plug-in. The plug-in itself is massive... it cannot fit on a dual layer DVD.

*Trance. Amplify your possibilities.*

I'll look into those expansion packs I haven't used hardware yet as i'm still new to producing and my sequencer is FL and i hear it has some trouble with hardware... Cheers for the advice though

so... i also like the pianos in purity... and i don't think the piano in orchestral is bad really... but i don't end up using it often.

NI grand piano (i forget the actual name) sounds great, but then again when was the last time NI made something that didn't sound great. also theres tons and tons of packs for kontakt that have amazing sampled piano sounds.
