Lets start breakin this one down boys and girls, the talking sucks, but the set itself is fucking amazing, listened to all but the last 15 minutes or so today

@112: Oliver Huntmann & Dubfire - Diablo [Cocoon]

"You are virtually the ring leader, the way I see it."
Then, I blew out the candle.

yes at first I though that the set will be more on a house side like the beginning, but after 40 minutes there are a lot of dull sounding tracks without any trace of melody. I am not saying the music is bad it's just not my thing atm.

seems like most DJ's nowadays take a roll/dive into the more minimal/electro sound with respect to their sets. kinda shame, cuz (imo) it seems to be some sort of a hype, rather than that a certain DJ is exploring/expanding his own sound. all sheeps follow the herd...
one reason for this happening might be that the crowd is (more) in for minimal/electro right now, hence the DJ's play it.

The minimal bandwagon took off a long time ago, so I don't know if all those DJ's are playing that minimal now because the crowds are into it, or if the crowds enjoy listening to that minimal because all the big DJ's are playing it..

It's a case of the chicken and the egg

100% agreed. still that doesnt change the fact that its strange that most of the major DJ's their sets 'n sounds have evolved all in the same direction (meaning that there's nothing wrong with an evolving sound of a DJ, but that it feels strange that the majority of 'em are pointed towards the same direction)
