honestly I find it the opposite way. There was once a small genre called powertrance where some tracks were played at like 165bpm in order to warm up for hardcore/techno (hard/speedcore/Schranz) type parties. In some cases, I prefered the tracks at the faster bpm, other times it didn't work so much.
