Honestly... a great night.
Got there around 8:30 and had no problems on the freeways or parking. Quick done in. Took some time to find the VIP/Artist gate since we were going courtesy of LBL. Again, no lines and no problems. Moved on in and was confused a bit about which stage was which initially, but figured it out mostly by stage size. Finally made it back in the VIP area by the main stage and hung out there. Met Luke as he walked in and we chatted a bit before he went on stage to setup while Cedric was playing.
Cedric's set just didn't do anything for me. Too many of those fade to silence breaks in it and I just didn't feel any continuity. My friend and I separated a bit because I was able to get by the stage fence thanks to security to take pics during Luke's set. I really have to hand it to the two guys who maintained the stage area during the night. Great people and easy to get along with. Luke literally blew it up during his whole set. I spent time taking pics next to the stage and chatting with numerous people which it was nice to meet so many awesome new people. Also, kudos to Cody Lee for coming out and hearing the set. Nice to see him there.
Luke dropped a number of epic tunes including Be with Show Me Love vocal, a newer mix of Lady, hear me Tonight (which was AMAZING), Break The House Down, a couple of his bootleg remixes and more. Honestly and easily the best set of the night hands down.
Dirty South came on and played a few great tracks, but I was chatting with people and what not, so I didn't pay nearly as much attention to the set as I probably should have. lol. BTW, to the idiots that think its cool to be by the stage and circumvent the whole "fence" thing... get a life, its there for security for the DJs so they don't get hounded. I wound up helping get people cleared out too when the fire marshal came. People were pissed they were bring told to leave until I said "It's either we leave or the party's done... take your pick..."
Got to get a pick with Luke and an autograph before he and DS took off for the airport. Luke seemed a bit tired, but with his schedule right now it makes sense to tone back when he isn't preforming.
All in all, one of the most enjoyable times I've ever had at a massive. Kudos to the cute girl when I got there to help put a smile on my face, E-Rok and his friends, Cody Lee, and the two guys who ultimately let me backstage and all their friends. It's nice to see people being good people and real people at massives still!
