Not literally two-dimensional, obviously. I remember seeing videos from Japan years ago where they did this stuff with mirrors and large lenses (sort of looked like crystal balls on the video).
Pretty cool if they're that close. The concept is difficult enough for a 2D surface, but the complexity is mind-boggling when you have to consider all angles.
