Fair enough, but how often do you actually hear something that is truly original from those who are the most vocal about originality? Not very often, if at all, in my experience. Ironically, most of the time, it's just crappy half-assed emulations of deadmau5, A&B, etc. sounds.
Don't get me wrong, I love programming/tweaking synths and have been doing so for twenty-some years now, but I wouldn't say I've ever created anything truly original that hasn't been created, at least similarly, by many others.

I agree 100%.
Also, those common sounds are used often because they work. Why reinvent the wheel? Guitars, cellos, pianos, etc. have been used for centuries now and they haven't ever gotten old.
Same thing with that triangle+square bassline and that detuned saw sound, and white noise wooshes. They work for their roles.
If your music fits within a genre, you are conforming to it's sound.
