To be honest, I'm not much for foreign films in general, and I'm also not much for the so-called "art house" set - so maybe that's where a lot of my disdain for some of these comes from.

Don't get me wrong, I can definitely enjoy a lot of independent and foreign films (The Bands Visit was terrific), I just also have pretty narrow tastes when it comes to movies.

That being said, I don't really think any of that has to do with why I don't find Woody Allen entertaining in the least.

You wouldn't.

As long as it's a promise, I'll provide the Uwe Boll.

Truffaut > Godard

Sick burn.

I'm glad I don't get it - I'd never want to be anything like the bulk of Woody Allen fans I've known. Enjoy your Annie Hall circle jerk, prickles.

Also, I really wonder whose alt you are - no new member ever arrives here and acts like such a complete twat right from the outset. Really only adds to how utterly pathetic your life must be. I pity folks like you.

Oh? How are "we?" Please. Divulge. Spare me having to forge a identity for myself.

I knew what you were going to say. Verbatim. Yes, you're that predictable. You've lost your luster, I'll move on now.

I've probably had as many people try to get me to believe in Woody Allen films as I've had try to convince me that "Amelie" is a brilliant flick - and I'm just not buying either.

OK, now you really took the cake. I completely understand how some people don't like David Lynch or some horror flicks. Those are clearly not to everybodys liking. I even see how one can find some Woody Allen films boring, although I'd disagree about that.
But Amelie?! Come on, I can't imagine how it's possible NOT to love that one.
You got some strange taste there, man. Next thing you tell me that you don't like Tiesto.

I saw that one coming, but I have the "childhood-memory" excuse, and coming from you I can also shot back with this:

You have childhood memories of eurodance?

What kind of sick, twisted parents did you have?

It wasn't my parents. They called the supernanny, and every time I misbehaved she made me sit on a chair and listen to Scatman John for half an hour. I began to enjoy it over time, but it took me years to get rid of the stuttering.
