You don't have to know everything about everything to create fantastic songs. Not every producer reads their DAW manual from cover to cover and makes sure they know about every little function, even those not really applicable to their style. New software, new versions come out, and all the top producers have to learn about the changes, same as everyone. They might be a bit quicker at working it out since they've probably got more experience, but it's just as fine for them to ask questions as it is for less experienced producers.
