emFire is very similar to minimalistic techno. It's spacey, has a minimal beat with no rising or falling action. I would expect that at least 95% of the people who listen to it would hate it. It's just so different from anything out there, especially the traditional mode of song with a climax et cetera.
Having said that. I personally absolutely love some of the tracks on the CD.
Who Killed Sparky? (Exclusive emFire Edit)
Is a ridiculously good track if you like that type of music. In my opinion, it is by far the best track on the CD.
Coma (Spangled Rubdub)
Mongoose (Exclusive emFire Edit)
Are also amazing downtempo tracks fitting into a minimalistic spacey type thing.
Who killed sparky (radio slave's panorama garage mix)
Moongoose (the fields disco mix)
Are also great tracks that have a much stronger driving kick, making them a little more upbeat than the other tracks.
Coma (Slam Paragraph Mix)
Mongoose (The Field's Floating Mix)
Are good tracks that are worth paying for.
Park It In The Shade (Audion Ain't Got No Friends Mix)
I personally cannot understand the vibe this song gives off. It's the only track on the CD I don't like.
Honestly, if you even remotely like minimalistic techno/airdrawndagger, buy this CD. However, don't buy it thinking it's going to be a really well mixed album. The CD is more directed towards other DJs in my opinion, that prefer unmixed tracks. The album itself has no particular progression, and you should listen to it more for enjoying individual tracks than a well done set.
I made a quick mix last night of some of my favorite tracks on the CD. I can upload it if you like. It's not a good mix, but at least you'd be able to listen to a few of the tracks to see if you like them.
