Like, seriously, how many threads do we need on this? It will be a HECK lot easier to have everything in one thread for easy future references and reading. Otherwise its a waste of time and space.

Well, the first thread is about escalating situation in Georgia. Now, technically speaking, this thread may or may not be about Georgia, depending on which side you support. Therefore the need for an additional thread is justified by those who support Abkhazian and Ossetian independence, as they consider them to no longer be a part of the country that is a subject of the previous thread. While some would consider this topic to belong inside the escalating situation in Georgia thread, some might conclude that the thread should now be narrowed down to conflicts around towns like Gori, Poti, and Batumi
