Nothing wrong with that on armor types so long as it doesn't dictate a similar relationship between all units, which it doesn't. Units are specialized for certain roles and those stats reflect that. SC2 uses a simplified version of the same system where instead of having normal/concussive/explosive damage, they have damage bonuses against specific armor types. (ex; 10 + 10 armored)

Actually I would love to play games like this co-op, but not by myself. Co-op could actually be damn good.

Indeed a puzzling choice on their part.

its not puzzling at all. the marine missions of the previous games were easily the best. what is so hard to understand?

I just think it's a waste to bring this IP to a team based FPS and not let you play as the (very unique and contrasting) other team. But I guess I'm the only one that really enjoyed playing the alien side, and would love to play that side on a next-gen engine.

I was just hoping they would stick to the AVP convention of letting you play both, if anything to increase replay value and further set itself apart from every other dime-a-dozen FPS floating aroudn these days.

That's mostly it. Without aliens and predators this just looks like another damn FPS in a market already flooded with them. Sure, it's not a fucking WW2 game, but my standards haven't fallen quite so low yet for that fact alone to make me consider this original in any way, or to have anything beyond a passing interest in it.

the problem with the alien/predator missions were that they were too easy and you never felt like you were in any danger. not enough fear for me!

You weren't supposed to feel in danger, you were supposed to feel like a motherfuckin acid-spitting alien beast

to be fair though, you don't really "spit" acid

i loved the alien missions but the predator ones (especially in the 2nd game) were just too easy (boring) for me.
