yeah right but it's nice to get presents and useless shite.

there's only so much your 'de facto' traits like beauty or strength can get you. in the end it's all about your wits and your intelligence and not giving a shit when some blond chick doesn't dig you because you don't have stretch marks on your traps and biceps

Yes. I am flattered because the compliment is more often than not part of their underlying sexual attraction or appreciation towards me, which reinforces the notion that I've inherited certain physical qualities that will increase my chances of producing offspring and continuing on my genes...or at least increase my chances of getting laid. That's all I really want.

Pride? Ego? There's also such a thing as grace...which is why I say, who gives a fucking shit? If someone sends a compliment my way, whether I feel I deserve it or not, I simply smile and say "thank you".

Look how stupid intelligence has made you, Lira. Lololololol.

I think the issue was "How do you feel about the compliment?", not "How do you respond to it?"

I like getting compliments, plain and simple.
Whether it's something I was born with or something I worked for, they make me feel better and boost my ego (not that I have self confidence problems, it's quite on the contrary).
Besides, it means you've probably left a good impression on a person, which can't be bad.
People don't give compliments to people they don't like.

i'm fine getting compliments. i always say "thanks" with a big smile.

as far as getting complimented on things i can't change...i've been complimented on my freckles a lot, even by guys who generally don't like freckles. they said i'm one of the rare sexy freckles type. makes me feel good
