I'm so pumped for it but I don't have time to produce due to uni so will hold out until about November. Should be plenty of time for the reviews to all get in and might even drop in price a tad. Plus the bug fixes of course.

FYI - in related news, there is a very lengthy thread (currently 25+ pages) over on the kvr.com forums discussing Omnisphere. Eric Persing (Spectrasonics President) provides a LOT of info regarding Omnisphere on that thread. His user name is "spectrum". My fanboy meter is clipping and I'm not ashamed to admit it.

Click here to view the thread.

Looks very promising. Anyone that gets this let us all know because I know for one I won't be able to spend that kind of money anytime soon.

You can make new sounds with Omnisphere, so stop being a smart-ass.

Ok let's comment on your second post then.

Try buying 35GB of samples somewhere. A regular sample cd of 700MB often costs more than 50$. So 35GB of sample cd's will cost you at least 2500$.

If this program will cost around 500$ that should be considered a bargain. I can understand it's too much for some people. But I think it's cheap for what you get. And then sample cd's are less editable than these sounds are (natively). Can't get any better.

Plus I think you either haven't used any spectrasonics products and think you know, or you haven't used them enough .
I think their plugins offer amazing quality, are inspiring and offer great flexibility. I haven't been as impressed by other products as I have been with the Spectrasonics romplers honestly.
Spectrasonics FTW

With kind regards from your Spectrasonics fanboy.

And, no i haven't used spectrasonics products and maybe if i had them i would use them more than i think (having never used them). But, my favorite part of producing is just sitting down with a synth and making sounds, probably i would still enjoy playing with omnisphere and making all sorts of weird atmospheres and fat basses/leads.

i only own 2 commercial vsti's v-station and vanguard, the rest are all freeware (or the standard fl studio ones) So spending 400 dollars is not something i will be able to do anytime soon.

I am not at all trying to make Omnisphere out to be some sort of aid for lazy producers. I know there are plenty of sounds that would be impossible to have in your tracks without it.

But personally, if i had 400 dollars to spend i would most likely spend it elsewhere, such as: computer upgrades, monitors, hardware synths, keyboard controllers. But if i had all those i would seriously look into omnisphere.

I hope i am not offending all the fanboys, and judging by the loyalty of all you i dont doubt the quality of spectrasonic products.

It's quite a lot of money still... very true. I just wish I could buy this soon, but can't

ow c'mon.. how lame was this comparison?! better buy the VSL VI 16 Boesendorfer then! you get 55GB for 238€ so it must be much better than omnisphere. i bet there are other libraries with much better GB/price ratio!

Yep the pricetag is high, especially comparing to freebies or bargain-type synths. Thats true that there is a lot of synths that offer outstanding possibilities for a fraction of the price, but that's not the point really.

This is a Virus TI kind of product, you can try to have substitutes but nothing does the same thing really.

I don't think I can stress enough that Omnisphere IS ACTUALLY A SYNTH, with additional samples added on as well. Plus you can layer the sounds (something Atmosphere users should be familiar with). With 40 gigs of samples and an actual fully functioning synth, you could make an endless amount of sounds if you take the time to do so.

$400 is NOT a lot of money for a synth, especially one as powerful as this. All of the best synths out there are close to this price range, some are even more.

Hell, I would venture to say that this will be better than most hardware synths and those cost shitloads more.
