i saw dj dan 5 times... met him twice... and he actually talked to me for like 10 minutes both times...
he truly is an amazing dj... i dont think the american rave scene would be where it is today if it was for him... he doesnt get the respect he deserves...

ratz i agree. I am a huge fan because he has done alot for house/rave scene here in california and the states. It just baffles me how i post a set and everyone thinks its then time to bash on him. Post a tracklist or say thanks. The people that will like him will like him, if you don't then dont download it. plain and simple.

the thing i dont understand... is how true fans of electronic music... the ones that may not of actually been there, but have did the research and have true appreciation... can bash djs like dj dan... do any of you actually know who this man is... he was there during the beginning... he is one of the originators of the american rave scene... so even if you dont like his style... you have to give the man respect... he literary started a style of electronic music all on his on...
hell He was voted the #5 DJ in the world by DJ Magazine’s "Top 100" poll for 2006

so give the man the respect he deserves...

ahahah, ye I'm noob
I noobly listen music since 1984 & never even try to be more than noob
I noobley started to listen with early rock as Beatles than Pink Floid (I noobly remember almost all they tracks, cuz I'm noob actually)
than, beeing more noob, I'm started to listen more fresh rock a U2 and same bands...
Now I'm noob, cuz I even started to post here in this thread, I realized IT

Why U think I never post smth in thread about music discussions? Cuz I think there ppl like music or don't like, it's only thier own opinion.. Music will not became better if U like it or hate it, and producers deserved theis fans, cuz they are doing smth

I actually dunno what this dj was done to ur scene, post here his megasupersets ,so we can injoy them with you rly
About comercializing all - it's common way, underground always became comercials till next uderground grows...

and being number 5 in the DJ Mag doesnt say anything, even not for a fairly newcomer to the scene.

of course, one can not argue on how good his sets are with respect to the tracks he plays; thats a personal thing which you cant 'judge' (i.e.; u like the tracks he plays or u dont).
however, if you read my first post, and second one (which i phrased wrong the 1st time i posted it), youll see ive listened to Dan before. he has amazed in the past, to be exactly his 2007 WMC EM w/ Frankie Knuckles. the sets he puts out now (of which this set is an example) and other sets i gave a listen in the past, are all the same imo. one can like his sound, but its very repetative. its a boring sound, with little or no refreshness. thats why i dont understand his reputation in America. on the other hand, as posted before, that might have to do with the Americans

Well, I don't. His 5th place in the DJ Mag Poll isn't represantive. Probably only votes from the USA and not even a single one from Europe. Maybe he started a campaign for that poll, because that poll is even more commercial then his music

Whats so funny is this tells me completely that you have absolutely NO history of the american dj. Dj dan is a new dj
HAHAHAHAHAHA
should i post his techno mixtapes from 1991 or 1992 or what about all his other sets from 93-to today
yeh hes a new dj
MY ASSSS
jesus lol
you make me laugh
obviously you havent looked at his tour schedule bc maybe hes not a huge superstar dj, but whats so great about dan is he is original AND has kept his underground sound. He doesnt sell out. Period. He obviously is big enough if hes touring the world on a yearly basis. but wtf do i know right?
hes a newbie dj.

i know, i check discogs too . but ANY dj can add some 6 or 7 years to his 'career' when it comes to the first times one starts spinnin. even i can. but thats not the point.
a bit offtopic, but Tiesto started early 90's with hardcore. so what? it doesnt contribute to what he is now. or would you call him a die-hard oldschool hardcore DJ ?
its a shame you miss the point.
i must admit, a DJ doesnt have to be 'good' to have an international schedule. but you cant deny that any DJ who has some reputation in his own country, has to be capable to fullfill his status in other countries, to remain to be 'judged' as good. its like having a gf who says ur the best guy to have in bed on the whole planet; youll never be sure if its true untill you pull a gigolo act on several other girls.
also, im not having disrespect for the way he commercializes his sound or not; i know some very good records from his In Stereo label. cant really say its shit or such. its not about the quality of the tracks he plays; his sets are shite.
the point is he's only a star in the US of A(ssholes), and thats what his limits are. he's not capable of pulling off anything elsewhere
last but not least, i just dont like his sound, and ive giving him a fairly good change when it comes to airtime from my pc. he's just not capable ...
