I hate when people say words/phrases that aren't words... I used to bite my tongue but now I correct them under the guise of "doing them a favor" by letting them know. Examples:
"expecially" instead of ESPECIALLY
"Might-could" instead of "might be able to"... i.e., Yeah I might could do that for you. (I've only seen this abortion of the English language happen in North and South Carolina).
"theirselves/theirself" instead of "themselves/themself"
I can't stand when black people say "axe" instead of "ask"... I'll say, "can you say bask? flask? task? Ok then why can't you pronounce 'ask' the right way?"
There are a lot that black people say wrong... another one is "aflete" instead of "athlete". Or, "chirrin" instead of "children". Or when they leave the letter "s" off of words like "let me borrow 25 cent" or "he work at Bank of America". It makes them sound so uneducated.
I could go on all day about this. I'll stop here
