A three minute pop song becomes a seventeen minute epic and the only bit they used from the original was a snatch of vocal texture that was put through a stutter.
that sounds quite interesting. got a sample at all?

Just made one for you. Four minutes long: [[ LINK REMOVED ]]
Vengaboys - Kiss(DJ Jean Remix) sounds even less like the original than the Airscape mix. At least that version was in the same key and had the same bassline(albeit half speed), this one should have been considered a stand-alone DJ Jean track. In fact the Southside Spinners remix uses nothing of the original either.

2 Unlimited - Jump For Joy (Armand's Dutch Touch Mix)

yeah but is'nt the hole point of a remix ment that it's completly differant to the orginal? And if im not rong when asked to remix the track it's ill advised to keep in context of the track you are mixing no? its what you do to it that counts.

The point of a remix is to show the remixers' view of it, how he/she/they feel the track should sound and be like, no matter whether the remix is similar or something totally different to the original.
