not only that, but people half the time don't even look like their picture, even if it is their own. my license is still the picture of me when i was 16 and got it, almost 7 years ago. i have a different haircut now, gained weight, and have some facial hair.
when i was working as a teller at a bank, we were required to check all ID's for most transactions. for me, as long as the name matched, i didn't care what you looked like. it wasn't my money and i wouldn't get in trouble, so why start problems with people and waste time? i'm sure many bouncers have the same mentality. as for liquor store owners, most of them own their own shop, so they'd just be losing money sending you away.
