These places ,they are close to central park?? I will sleep near.
Everything is pretty close by cab anyways in NY. You can go from Midtown to Alphabet City for like $10.00 cab fare.
Stay in Brooklyn or Jersey City and save tons of $$ on hotel. Just catch the Subway. Its easy and super cheap.

if you rent a car(or drive) and stay in the shithole know as Newark, you can get very nice accomodations for a fraction of the price. What you get on the island hotel wise vs cost is disgusting.
Newark is only a short drive across the bridge away.

You will have fun. They serve booze way past our hours. Just make sure your budget is bigger and plan to spend more! Even if you don't it is good to over budget because money goes faster in NYC than anywhere else I have been.
You will have fun. If you are going with a gf i suggest making reservations for sunday brunch at Tavern On The Green in Central Park. She will feel special and give you anal!

If mostly all these clubs are accessible by cab ,it's perfect.
I have actually stayed at the WestSide Y.
Did you at least get a room with a park view? That is the only thing that makes it worth it. (those views are stunning!!)
The beds roll away from the walls.. watch that.
There are no bugs and if you got a room on the top floors (Extra $$) they have individual bathrooms. You still need to leave your room to get to it but it is a self contained bathroom that has the shower, sink, and toliet.
Overall the WSY is not horrible but you can do better.
You can get a room at the DoubleTree in Jersey City for about $20.00 more a night. It is right at the end of the Holland Tunnel (tunnel leading into downtown Manhattan) and there is a free shuttlebus that runs to Manhattan and back all the time.
PS: Do not stay in Newark. The traffic and gas money spent will cancel out the benefit of staying so far away from the city... in my opinion!

it is pricy though...everything is.
Ditto on all that. I spend SO everytime I go visit there.
Tavern on the Green is amazing. Do it if you can spare the $$.
Also... I just wanted to reiterate...
Cab fares are seriously nothing like they are in Canada.
I went from Maccarren park (middle of Brooklyn) to the mid 50's on the West Side (this is quite the trip) and it only cost us $20.00 with tip! ..... Cabs are dirt cheap
One of my favorite places to eat (I eat there at least once per visit to NY... it's awesome!)
is Eatery LINK
.. .. its only a few blocks from Timesquare and you can just walk there after shopping one day:
Amazing food, service, and the drinks are out of this world
