If I were to buy another cdj, sure it would probably be the 400 only cause of the serato compatibility, price , and the great pitch resolution in comparison to the big boys.
With that being said, the 200's are "talked" about still, because for the price, you can't get another cdj that matches the build quality.

Yep. The only other major selling point of the 400 to me is the USB port on it. Even then I'd probably still use cd most of the time. I've heard it's slow loading anything through USB that has a whole bunch of files and I even heard it has worse pitch control for USB-loaded files (though I could be talking straight from my ass and if I am could someone please correct me).

Ok me and my mom finally went to the shop to check out the gear.
We decided on a non rotary Xone 92 and CDJ 400s.
That alone costs 4410 Singapore dollars which is 2975 USD and 2117 pounds. Along with speakers and sennheiser hd 25 mk2, all in all it's 5300 singapore dollars. I decided not to go with the sennheiser hd 25 mk 2 first since I could use my normal headphones anyway. I'll just slowly save up for the sennheisers. Tough economic times nowadays.
I'll be buying the gear in November or December.
However, I'd like to know if I could get the xone 92 for a cheaper price and where? If I buy it in london, will it be cheaper than buying it here? The Xone 92 here is 2650 singapore dollars, which is 1787 USD and 1058 british pounds.
You think I could get it much cheaper if I buy it from the UK or the USA + shipping costs or should I just buy one here? Any trustworthy stores/sites which deliver worldwide? All I know of is westenddj.co.uk.
Some advice would be appreciated.

I got my Xone 92 + Xone XD 53 headphones (worth 140 odd Sterling, it's a promotional offer they're doing) for £910 from www.decks.co.uk
Your only problem is customs.
You will probably get stung for customs if you have them shipped out to you. Unless you know someone in the UK could get them to break the packaging down and send it as a gift. Though this could still maybe get stung by customs.
Also not sure if the warranty would hold up for you then? Maybe A&H have an international warranty i'm not sure.
Nice choice of gear though.
I love the way your mum came along Watch out, she might start getting interested in mixing. I know my dad has taken a keen interest into what i've been doing.
Though when the techno starts pumping he takes a back seat and waits for the more mellow stuff to come back on.

Wow...that's cheap. 999 for the Xone 92 AND the XD 53. That here would cost £1250. Unfortunately, decks.co.uk say they don't deliver outside the UK & Ireland.
What could be my problem with customs though?
An option I have is to get my mate who's going to london to buy it there so I could save around 500 singapore dollars. Still gotta check with westend dj with their worldwide delivery service. I'll await their response to my email today.
Oh and my dad doesn't give a shit about this. It's my mom who's paying anyway.

The problem you will have with customs is taxes. Which will make it not worth it to buy internationally. Unless you can get someone to send it as a 'gift' which goes untaxed.

I can't speak Singapore, but check the used market. You might be able to save some real coin.
Also I'd be happy to ship you a US Xone if the exchange rates work out.

if you don't need 4 channels, you might want to consider a less expensive 2 or 3 channel mixer. thsi would save money for better headphones, speakers, and possibly a desk as someone else pointed out.

nice choice..my first experience of messing around with DJ gear was at a Sinamex store in Singapore's Parklane shopping mall. Back in 2006 I bought my 1st CDJ 800 from a chinese guy in Singapore for $860 Sing dollars.

see if you can get your friend to get the tax refund on the mixer if he's willing to carry it back from the uk for you, 900 pounds roughly, then claim baxck the 17.5% VAT.
Most countries have a limit on what you can carry back from o/s without paying local customs duties, but I've never seen that declaration in Sg immigration forms nor had anyone ask such a question there.
it is a bit of running around but could be worth it

I actually can't wait to get my gear. When I thought about the 42 I was like 'why not go all the way on the first purchase so I don't have to upgrade?' I will continue DJing for house parties and stuff cause right now all I use is Ableton.
400s vs 800s, thought that the only difference was the size of the jog wheel and since I won't scratch a lot anyway, I won't need the bigger jog wheel. The 400 also has the USB which is really useful and quite a necessity nowadays.
All in all im getting the Xone 92 linear, 2 CDJ 400s, KRK speakers and the sennheisher hd 25s mk2. I'm so psyched. Thanks to all. I'll be posting pics in the future.
