yes photobot...its wild 94.9!!! They play cheesy trance because of the djs there like St. John who plays the cheesy trance during the day. Friday nights is house nation on that station which they play some quality stuff. Live 105 on saturday night subsonic plays electronic. It isn't even close to making up the ladder. They play trance at midnight-4am where not too many people around are listening except for true electronica fans. Its all about the money and those radio stations don't feel they will get the majority of the crowd listening when they play trance, so they strictly play it at night.

Yea right. If trance went mainstream here, i'd kill myself. It'd just be a bunch of DJ Skribbles playing sandstorm and 50 billion remixes of it. Ive heard the man try spinning trance. It's not even funny.

Same here. It's better that Trance stays the way it is here. Imagine having a Marco V sneaker, or a DJ Tiesto cologne, or possible seing Push do a corny Pepsi commercial...

Trance will never be mainstream here... Mostly because this countries musical taste is decided directly by huge record labels... How much do you think they pay off MTV for that TRL bullcrap?... It's a pure marketing machine and trance will never be promoted using it. Almost every damn teenager in the country watches that crap and it pretty much tells them what music to listen too... it's really quite sad...

The tracks are too long, people don't have the attention spans.
Although radio edits of cheezier tracks are getting popular, that means very little.

agreed.

elecctronic mainstream next

No one ever thought Rap would become mainstream either back in the 80's. It's been around before electronic, so i see electronic to be on the back burner. Another example is Punk Rock. Another is Grundge rock. These genres were all underground once here in the states. Trance is very commercial in Europe but is still respected at the same time. All of the videos are on MTV Pop, lots of the cds get massive tv and radio promotion and geuss what, their parties rock. Everyone is educated on the music. The US is always a few years behind Europe, but look at all the commercials using electronic, look at Okey doing sound tracks for popular movies, its not just trance thats gonna be mainstream its gonna be everything. So the people who call trance cheesy for being played on the radio will also have to call house, breaks, dnb and everything else played on the radio cheesy as well.
