Depends on whether it's advice or hardware you're after.

If it's advice, just buy one, and put it in place of the CD drive you removed. It's normally as simple as that. You need to ensure you get the correct type of drive, these days SATA CD writers are becoming more popular, although if it's older than about 2 years the likelyhood is it'll be an IDE drive. Best bet is to remove the drive, take it to PC world (if you can bear the dull staff) and ask them to give you an equivalent CD writer.

Take it home, plug it in. If you have any problems PM me with your mobile number and I'll talk you through it.

I'm in the UK by the way.

Hahahahahahaha.

I'm posting from PC world right now!

that's my part time job while i'm a student. I work here weekends by day and DJ by night haha.

i ended up buying a cheapy sony one that's working really really well.
