Pretty much. I just like Cubase more. My opinion is based on SX but I'm keen to get Cubase 4 in the near future to finish my tracks once I've done everything I want to in Ableton. I'm just not happy with the post-production side of things in Ableton and would love to be able to use C4 and all it's handy new plugins.

I bought Cubase 4, full version.

It's been great... NOW. You're in the right time to buy either of these DAWs.

I bought Cubase 4 when it was brand spanking new, and OH the problems it had! Now at version 4.5 it's kicking ass and taking names.

I can only elaborate further on Cubase 4, since I have rarely used Sonar.

I'm currently thinking of Buying Cubase 4 but im afraid that it will be updated soon since we are now at 4.5...
Cakewalk is updating Sonar very fast and to be honest id rather wait for maybe Cuabse 5 then buying it today and paying again later to get the new version
What do u guys think will Steinberg come ou with a new version soon or they have a different strategy than Cakewalk cauz I'm personally not sure ??

Na Steinberg takes their time with releases so I doubt it. Cubase 4.5 is apparently really good too now so no need for a 5.

Yea, I think I will. I love Ableton Live 7 but I'm not the biggest fan of it in post production. Plus, I could really use the awesome effects and plugins that C4 comes with.

I think I will buy it soon before I graduate because I can get it for a student discount then at only AUD$400 compared to AUD$900.
