Thats what you get for BUYING anti-spyware programs

Seriously man that sucks but there is no need to ever pay for antivirus or antispyware stuff. The free alternatives are just as good if not better.

These are all you'll need for the rest of your life:

Anti-spyware:

Antivirus: http://free.avg.com/download-avg-an...us-free-edition

Download, install, update, scan. Booyah. Zero spyware or viruses..guaranteed.

I dunno about that. I tried to update my free AVG software a few months back and ended up having to buy it. The free version is now only a trial for a 6o days or so.

What version are you/were you running? Support for 7.5 stopped, I believe, which could lead you to believe you need to pay. You can downloan 8.0 for free. I'm running it now, and I get free daily updates as I have for some time.

lol I've seen the popup for that Antivirus XP and I'll give the pricks that wrote it some credit, when you get the popup they have done a nice job making it look like it is a MS Windows program so I can only imagine how many people are falling for this given that there are plenty of morons that click on popups that had no effort at all put into them.

If you're not doing so, I would also recommend that you create a limited user account from which you do all your web browsing and basic activities. This will keep your processes in Windows from running with full administrative privileges. In the event that you do need to run a program as admin, simply right-click the shortcut and select "run as". Then you can choose to run that particular program as admin.

Of course like as ass I'm assuming we're talking XP here, amirite?
