My bad on the second thread about this sad loss. Didn’t realise someone else would have created one for him. I’m glad I’m not the only one who’s going to really, truly lament his passing…
I still cant believe that I’m NEVER EVER going to be able to read another new novel put out by him. That experience and joy is forever lost now. Hard wrapping my head around this reality…

agreed.
I enjoyed Sphere. Andromeda Strain was probably my favourite though. His attention to detail and the research that went into his writing were incredible. |
Sphere is the most-read novel I've ever read. I've read that one prolly 7-8 times at this point in my life. It's prolly my 2nd favourite novel he wrote (first being without a doubt: AIRFRAME. Thought his style of writing in it was brilliant in it!!! Definitely my first or second favourite book of all time that I've read)
And agreed on his attention to detail… and the manner in which he writes it all down so that incredibly complicated (and usually foreign) concepts are well grasped by us, the reader. That talent alone I think shows his brilliance at writing.
And you mentioned research... NO KIDDING WOW... His latest several techno-thrillers especially, he'd be spending a year to two years just RESEARCHING the damn things. His bibliographies at the back of his recent novels are phenomenally huge... MASSIVELY RESPECT to Mr. Crichton. Just one more thing I respect about Michael Crichton.

i really enjoyed "travels". i'd even recommend reading that first before reading any other of his books. you get to experience and know what he went through and how his life journey reflects in his novels. |
An excellent work!! Loved it!! Gives you incredible insight him Michael Crichton. I now what to re-read this novel again to honour his life w/ his recent passing...

Loved the book. Fascinating as hell! Amazing story (and direction it took on…)
(The movie blew ass though, of course. What a surprise.)
