IMO... The Mormoms should have donated all that money to some other cause where it's really needed and not on a prop like prop 8.

I was at the rally and walked with over a thousand ppl for what I believe was unjust and unfair. The passing of this bill was a grave step back in a nation that is finally starting to make steps forward.

what a nice way to render our election process irrelevant. You dont like the outcome, petition for a redo. lol

the republicans called, they would like to start a petition for a redo of the presidential election, they didnt like the outcome of that one. Soon to come, petitions for elections where seats of the house and senate were lost.

to open this back up is to say our democratic process is no good, and if you dont like how we vote, just start a petition and will let you vote again until we get it right for you lol.

A buddy of mine went to a huge protest in Silver Lake last night.
All the protesters are vowing not to pay any more taxes.

This petition won't have a hint of influence on whatever happens though.

uh right... that doesn't provide any evidence that the petition directly affected the outcome of any of those decisions. they are stories about something the petition author wanted to happen, happening, with no established causal effect. and how many millions of those things have been made for a handful of stories like that? i'll bet the success rate is no higher than that of random chance. just thinking about it from an objective stand point, submitting an online petition to a party of authority as a form of political leverage is quite laughable from that party's perspective.

That's why I made the smiley face...duhhhh

Of course I don't take it seriously, lol.

Though, I have seen local news refer to petitions on the site in the past.

To paraphrase Martin Luther King, Jr.:

"I have a dream that one day this nation will rise up and live out the true meaning of its creed: "We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal."

I have a dream that one day on the red hills of Georgia, the sons of former slaves and the sons of former slave owners will be able to sit down together at the table of brotherhood.

I have a dream that one day even the state of Mississippi, a state sweltering with the heat of injustice, sweltering with the heat of oppression, will be transformed into an oasis of freedom and justice.

I have a dream that my four little children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin but by the content of their character.

I have a dream today!

I have a dream that one day, down in Alabama, with its vicious racists, with its governor having his lips dripping with the words of "interposition" and "nullification" -- one day right there in Alabama little black boys and black girls will be able to join hands with little white boys and white girls as sisters and brothers.

I have a dream today!"

So by this logic, African Americans should have just dropped it. The majority decided they were slaves, so the democratic process worked like a charm. Guess it doesn't matter so much as long as you are not the one submitted to religious persecution and your rights are not taken away...
